What is Olympus Male?
Olympus Male is a compounded troche, a small lozenge that dissolves under the tongue, that combines three medicines aimed at different parts of sexual health. At Ultimate Male, we understand that sexual health is about more than function; it is about confidence, connection and quality of life. That is why we offer Olympus Male, which is designed to support intimacy from both the physical and the psychological side.
Whether you are dealing with low libido, performance anxiety or erectile dysfunction, Olympus Male brings three ingredients together in one sublingual lozenge:
- Bremelanotide (PT-141): acts on receptors in the brain involved in sexual desire and arousal.
- Oxytocin: often called the bonding hormone, studied for its role in emotional closeness.
- Tadalafil: improves blood flow for firmer erections.
Because it targets desire and connection as well as blood flow, Olympus Male is more than a standard ED pill. You can see how it fits with other options on our Olympus Male treatment page.

How does Olympus Male work?
Each ingredient works on a different step of the sexual response, from interest to blood flow.
1. Physical performance: tadalafil
Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor, the same medicine found in Cialis. It increases blood flow to the penis, which improves erection quality when you are aroused. MedlinePlus lists erectile dysfunction and the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate as its uses.
2. Desire and arousal: bremelanotide
Bremelanotide, also called PT-141, activates melanocortin receptors in the brain that take part in sexual response. Its FDA-approved form, Vyleesi, is an injection for premenopausal women with low sexual desire, and the Vyleesi label states it is not indicated for men or for enhancing sexual performance. Its use in Olympus Male is therefore off-label. Our page on PT-141 for men covers what is and is not known.
3. Emotional connection: oxytocin
Oxytocin is the hormone involved in bonding and feelings of closeness. Research on whether it improves sexual experience in men is still early and mixed, and our article on oxytocin and sex research in men summarizes what the studies show.
What does FDA approval mean for a compounded blend?
Each ingredient exists in an FDA-approved product, but the combined troche does not. Olympus Male is made by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy for each patient. The FDA’s compounding questions and answers explain that compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and that the agency does not check their safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold.
| Ingredient | FDA-approved product | Approved use | Use in Olympus Male |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tadalafil | Tablets (Cialis) | ED, enlarged prostate symptoms | Same medicine, different form |
| Bremelanotide | Injection (Vyleesi) | Low desire in premenopausal women | Off-label |
| Oxytocin | Injection | Labor and delivery | Off-label |
| The three combined | None | None | Compounded |
That is why a provider weighs whether the blend makes sense for you, or whether a single FDA-approved medicine is the better first step.
Why choose Olympus Male?
At Ultimate Male, we chose Olympus Male for its dual-action approach. This is not just about erections; it is about better, more fulfilling intimacy. Men who choose it are usually looking for:
- more interest in sex and easier arousal,
- firmer erections,
- less pressure in the moment,
- a stronger sense of connection with a partner,
- a dissolving troche instead of a pill to swallow,
- a medicine overseen by a provider who has reviewed their health first.

How do you use it?
Your provider tells you when to take it and how often. In general, the mini troche goes under the tongue ahead of planned intimacy and is left to dissolve completely for full absorption. Do not use more than your provider recommends, and do not combine it with another ED medicine unless your provider has approved it.
Are there side effects?
Most side effects are mild and temporary. They can include:
- flushing or a warm feeling,
- mild headache,
- nausea,
- nasal congestion or indigestion,
- a short-lived rise in blood pressure and drop in heart rate, which the Vyleesi label lists for bremelanotide,
- with repeated bremelanotide use, darker patches of skin on the face or gums in some people.
When to get emergency care
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for chest pain, signs of a stroke, a severe allergic reaction or an erection that lasts more than 4 hours. Sudden loss of vision or hearing also needs medical care right away.
Who should avoid Olympus Male?
Some men should not use it at all, and others need a closer look first. Do not use Olympus Male if you:
- take nitrates such as nitroglycerin, or riociguat, which must not be combined with tadalafil,
- have uncontrolled high blood pressure or known heart disease, which the Vyleesi label lists as reasons not to use bremelanotide,
- have recently had a stroke, heart attack or other cardiac event,
- have a known allergy to any of the ingredients,
- take oral naltrexone, which bremelanotide can interfere with.
If you take nitrates, our page for men who take nitrates explains which ED options remain open.
Why Ultimate Male?
Because ED is often a sign of something larger, we look at your overall health before recommending any ED medicine. The AUA guideline advises counseling men that ED is a risk marker for heart disease and measuring morning testosterone in men with ED. Our blood tests for erectile dysfunction cover those basics.
Ultimate Male focuses on men’s health and wellness, with services in testosterone therapy, ED treatment, IV therapy, hair restoration and preventative blood testing. Our goal is personalized, provider-guided care in a comfortable, judgment-free setting.
