Why does an NAD+ IV cost more than a standard drip?
Two things push the price up: the ingredient and the time. NAD+ costs more per dose than the vitamins in a typical drip, and the infusion cannot be rushed, so you occupy a chair and a nurse’s attention for longer.
The time comes from how people tolerate it. In a 2026 records review of 500 mg infusions, everyone given NAD+ reported stomach upset, a faster heart rate or chest pressure during the drip, and those symptoms settled once it ended. Clients set their own drip speed by tolerance, and the NAD+ infusions averaged 97 minutes against 37 minutes for nicotinamide riboside, a related compound. An earlier 2019 pilot study gave 750 mg over six hours, about 2 mg a minute, and reported no adverse events at that slow pace.
Both studies were small, and the 2026 authors called their work preliminary. Evidence about what NAD+ infusions do for health is still early.
IV or injection: how the cost per dose compares
Injections cost less each time, but you take them more often. The right comparison is the cost over a month of your plan, not one visit against one shot.
| NAD+ IV | NAD+ injection | |
|---|---|---|
| Dose size | Larger single doses | Smaller doses |
| Time per dose | Often one hour or more in the chair | A few minutes |
| Where | In the clinic, with a nurse watching the rate | Shown in the clinic the first time, then at home or in the clinic |
| What you pay for | The NAD+, IV supplies, chair time and nursing | The NAD+ supply and the visit where you learn the technique |
| Frequency | Spaced sessions | More frequent doses |

How many sessions does a typical plan use?
There is no standard number, which is why a quote has to follow a consultation. In the 2026 study, people received four infusions on consecutive days, described there as a typical commercial loading pattern recommended by the supplying pharmacy rather than a schedule proven in trials.
Your provider builds the plan around your goals, how you tolerate the first infusion and whether injections make more sense for ongoing use. A plan might start with a short run of infusions, use injections alone, or space infusions further apart. Ask for the total cost of the first month and of a typical month after that.
What else goes into the price
NAD+ is part of the Ultimate Male peptide menu, so it follows the same steps as other peptides. That means blood work first, including metabolic and hormone markers, a one-on-one consultation, and a check-in with follow-up labs at six to eight weeks. Our page on blood work before peptide therapy explains the starting panel.
For injections, the NAD+ is made by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy, and your supply can be mailed to your home or held at the clinic for you. For the wider menu, see peptide therapy cost.
FSA, HSA and insurance
NAD+ for energy or healthy aging usually has to come from after-tax money. IRS Publication 502 excludes supplements and similar products taken to maintain general health, unless a medical practitioner recommends them to treat a specific diagnosed condition.
Health insurance does not pay for NAD+ infusions, and Ultimate Male does not bill insurance. You still receive an itemized receipt, and financing through CareCredit, Prosper Healthcare Lending or Afterpay can spread the cost of a starting series.
When to stop and when to call 911
Tell the nurse right away if you feel chest pressure, a racing heart or nausea during the drip, so the rate can be slowed or stopped. If chest pain, trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat happens after you leave, call 911.
Getting your NAD+ quote
Use the free 10-minute phone call to explain what you hope NAD+ will help with and whether you prefer infusions or injections. The team can outline the evaluation that comes first.
After your labs and consultation, you receive a quote for the first month and the expected monthly cost after it, before you book. Our guide to your first NAD+ infusion shows what the day looks like, and the NAD+ therapy page covers who it suits.
