PRP for ED cost

Short answer

PRP for ED is paid per session, so your total is the session price times the number of sessions in your plan. There is no established protocol; one placebo-controlled trial used two injections a month apart. Pairing PRP with shockwave adds a separate series. PRP is not FDA-approved for ED, insurance does not cover it, and Ultimate Male quotes your plan before booking.

What does one PRP session for ED pay for?

Each session is a small in-clinic procedure from start to finish. Your blood is drawn, spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and the plasma is injected after the area has been numbed. You are paying for the single-use processing kit, the numbing, the provider’s time and the visit itself.

Set expectations before you budget. PRP is not FDA-approved for ED, and the AUA erectile dysfunction guideline classes it as experimental. The evidence is mixed, so a fair plan treats PRP as something to try thoughtfully, not a sure thing. Our answer on whether PRP works for ED goes deeper.

How many sessions are usually planned?

There is no agreed number, which is why the session count belongs in your quote rather than on a price list. Trials have used different schedules, and the ones with a placebo group give the clearest picture.

Study What was tested What it found
Randomized trial, Journal of Urology, 2023 61 men with mild to moderate ED; two PRP or placebo injections one month apart Safe, with no major adverse events, but no difference from placebo
Meta-analysis, Journal of Sexual Medicine, 2026 Seven placebo-controlled trials, 479 men No difference in erectile function scores at 1, 3 or 6 months; a possible benefit at 6 months in three studies, rated low-to-moderate certainty

So a two-session plan matches the trial design above, while longer plans rest more on clinical judgment. Neither approach has strong proof behind it yet, which is worth weighing against the cost. Ask your provider why they suggest the number they do, and what you will look for to decide whether to continue. Our page on how many PRP treatments for ED explains the reasoning.

Pairing PRP with shockwave: how a package is priced

A combined plan is two series running side by side, and its price is built from both. The PRP side is priced per session. The shockwave side, as Cleveland Clinic describes it, is a series of short sessions spread over more than a month, which insurance usually does not cover.

What moves a package price:

  • The number of shockwave sessions in the series.
  • The number of PRP sessions and how they are timed against the shockwave visits.
  • Shared visits. Whether any PRP and shockwave visits can be combined, which lowers the visit count.
  • Bundle pricing. Ultimate Male offers bundle pricing on longer plans, so ask how it applies to a combined series.

Both treatments are investigational or experimental for ED, so combining them does not change that status. Read combining shockwave and PRP for ED and our comparison of shockwave and PRP for ED before you decide.

What is included at Ultimate Male

Your plan starts with an evaluation, not an injection. A PA-C or MD reviews your history, heart health and medicines, and same-day labs at our San Gabriel or Downey clinic look for causes such as low testosterone, diabetes or high cholesterol, with results in 24 to 48 hours.

If PRP fits, the PRP injections for ED page describes the visit. Follow-up visits check how you are responding before any further sessions are booked. If PRP does not fit, the consultation turns to options with stronger evidence.

FSA, HSA, insurance and financing

Insurance does not pay for PRP for ED, and Ultimate Male does not bill insurance in any case. IRS Publication 502 counts medical care to treat a diagnosed condition, and ED is one, but because PRP is experimental for ED, confirm with your plan administrator before paying with FSA or HSA funds.

Every PRP session gets its own line on an itemized receipt. CareCredit, Prosper Healthcare Lending and Afterpay can spread the cost of a series, so you are not paying for every session up front.

Getting your PRP quote

Start with the free 10-minute phone call and share what you have already tried for ED. That helps the team tell you whether PRP is worth discussing or whether another step makes more sense first.

After labs and your consultation, you receive a quote for the full plan, including any shockwave pairing, before you book. To see how PRP fits among all the options, visit the PRP injections page or our breakdown of ED treatment cost.

Why is PRP for ED sometimes called the P-Shot?
P-Shot is a trademarked name for one branded version of the procedure. Ultimate Male describes its treatment as P-Shot style because it uses the same basic idea, your own platelet-rich plasma injected into the penis.
Does PRP for ED hurt?
The area is numbed first, and most of the discomfort comes from the blood draw and the brief injections. Mild bruising or swelling at the site can follow, and the area may feel tender as the numbing wears off.
Can PRP replace ED pills?
Current trials do not support counting on it to do that. Your provider will be clear about what PRP can and cannot be expected to do, and proven options such as pills stay on the table.
